Department of otorhinolaryngology is an important clinical department of DHR. It also includes audiology and speech therapy department. Our department renders diagnostic and therapeutic services to the patients of all age groups for diseases related to ear, nose, throat, head and neck.

Diagnostic ENT OPD services include daily OPD, procedures like nasal endoscopy, ear microscopy and direct laryngoscopy. Audiology diagnostic services includes pure tone audiometry, impedance audiometry, BERA and free field audiometry. Therapeutic ENT OPD procedures include ear wax removal, nasal and ear foreign body removal, FNAC, small biopsies and man oeuvres for treating giddiness. Audiology therapeutic services include speech therapy for congenital deaf mute children and adults also. Hearing aid trial and fitting for hearing aids is an important service provided by audiology department.

Different surgical procedures for infective and neoplastic diseases in ENT and head neck diseases mainly performed in ENT operation theatre.

ENT services are also provided in ICU for doing tracheostomy, diagnostic nasal endoscopy and direct laryngoscopy and FNAC.

ENT OPD services are also provided through our urban slum sub centers about five visits in a month. Emergency ENT services are also provided round the clock

Services Provided

• Consultation in Out Patient Department (OPD). Emergency ENT Services in casualty Admission & treatment in General wards. Regular rounds by MO, HO& consultant E.N.T Surgeons for the admitted patients.
• Operative services for ear, nose, throat, head and neck related diseases
• Neonatal hearing screening
• Audiology Diagnostic services and hearing aid trial and fitting, Speech therapy
