Pediatrics

Department Of Pediatrics is an important clinical component of Dr Hedgewar hospital. Clinical and diagnostic evaluation is provided to the pediatric age group which ranges from birth through 18 years of age.

Apart from the OPD services the department provides round-the-clock intensive care service to the neonates and pediatric patients. In coordination with the dept. of gynecology babies delivered out of high risk pregnancies are given special care. Neonatal screening, evaluation of high risk babies, regular immunization for children and adolescents, consultations for special clinical ailments like Asthma, Diabetes and Thalassemia are a few key features of this department. Healthcare services are extended to the underprivileged children by taking regular health checkup camps and immunization camps at the peripheral health care centers of the hospital as well as by making quarterly visits to the nearby villages. Working hours for OPD services are between 9 30 AM to 1 30 PM and 5 PM to 7:30 PM. The Pediatric consultants are on call to render emergency care.

• Counseling for mothers regarding breast feeding and basic care of the newborn.
• High Risk baby clinic &Child Guidance Clinic.
• Thalassemia Day care center.
