Surgery

Department Of Surgery is an important clinical component of Dr. Hedgewar hospital. Clinical and diagnostic evaluation is provided to the all group which ranges from birth through 90 years of age. Apart from the OPD services the department provides round-the-clock.

1) Dressing room carry out dressings of patients for new and follow up patients along with minor procedures which includes stitch removal / application catheterization, enemas, small biopsy / FNAC and collect specimens for cultures.
2) O.T. time slots are allotted to each surgeon every 3rd day, and emergency surgery is carried out as and when required.
3) Working hours for OPD services are allotted for every week days. The consultants are on call prior to O.T. days with proper workup. Surgical procedures are planned accordingly. D.N.B. students take part in learning surgical skills to which they are applied.

• Regular rounds along with detailing of surgical procedures to patient and his relatives prior to surgery (counseling)
